Meet Sarah Edelsohn
Sarah is a Los Angeles-based mixed media artist whose work reflects the intricate interplay between her personal experiences and creative vision. Her art, inspired by family, friends, and daily life, constantly evolves as she explores new techniques. Her current focus is an evocative abstract collection, born from a period of meditation following a tragic accident that claimed her paternal grandparents. This shift to nonrepresentational art felt inevitable, particularly influenced by her grandmother Susan’s love for abstract expression.
Living with albinism and low vision, Sarah’s challenge with focusing on a fixed point informs her artistic approach. She uses intricate patterns and discordant gold coils to convey her unique visual experience, immersing viewers in the overwhelming sensations she perceives. Her art serves as both a diary and a love letter to her family, transforming personal narrative into a universal language of emotion and connection.
